Overview
Sometimes the default value of 10 000 visible external folders can prevent the users from navigating to certain folders. This behavior can be affected with Advanced Vault Settings.
Symptoms
Some environments can have network folder connection with e.g. 30 000 subfolders. By default, if that network folder is opened, users can only see 10 000 folders.Cause and Reason
There is a default value of 10 000 for the maximum number of results for external folder listings. This is to guarantee sensible performance when accessing any network folder in M-Files Desktop.Solution
In some situations, there might be a need to increase this limit. M-Files Admin has a setting that affects this:Advanced Vault Settings > Configuration > External Repositories: External Folder Listing Limit
Please note that listings could become pretty slow to populate when the limit is set to a higher value (e.g. 30 000).
