Overview
As is often the case in dynamic environments, the movement of vault data from one location to another is necessary for business processes. The Content Replication and Archiving feature of M-Files is used for one-off or regular movement of data.
In newer cloud environments, M-Files vaults require the use of BLOB storage to hold the export data set, and older releases of MF Server can't properly accommodate, often resulting in a message containing:
Failed to upload all files to BLOB Storage.
Solution
When exporting from an on-premises system, it is important that the MF Server version is compatible with the system that will be importing the data set. It's possible that older (e.g., pre-21.x) releases will generate export data that will result in the described error.
It will be necessary to either upgrade the exporting system to a current MF Server level or, export first to another on-premises system that is current and run the final export from there.
