Ground Link Connection Failure in M-Files After New Cloud Migration or Vault URL Change or URL Change

Overview

If your M-Files classic cloud vault was recently migrated to the new cloud infrastructure or if you had your vault URL changed, you may notice that your Ground Link connection is failing.

Solution

The connection failure can be attributed to the Ground Link configuration on the Ground Link proxy server. Since the new cloud vault connections rely on a different port, this change needs to be made on the Ground Link as well. Additionally, if your vault URL has changed, you will also need to include this change on the Ground Link server.

  1. In the left-side tree view, under Ground Link Proxies, select your existing Ground Link proxy.
  2. On the Configuration tab, navigate to the Channel dropdown and change the port number to 443.
    1. NOTE: If your vault URL has also changed, please also update the Network Address with the new URL.
  3. Save your configuration change.

The Ground Link connection to the cloud vault should now be restored, as the connection is now utilizing the new port number and/or new vault URL.
