Overview

Sometimes you must create a new Property, where you want to copy the data from some other property. For example, if you must change a data type. This article will explain that procedure.

Solution

1. Create a copy of the integer Property. Use the wanted Data type.

2. In the Automatic Values tab, select "Simple concatenation of properties" > Add Placeholder... > select the integer Property by double-clicking it > OK.

3. Go to Classes and add the new Property for the wanted Class.

4. Back to Properties > right-click from the new Property > Recalculate > Recalculate All Values > Yes.

5. Check from the Client that the Objects of the corresponding Class have got the new Property and the right value.

6. If you want to delete the integer Property, go back to Admin tool > delete the Property. NOTE 1. Do NOT calculate again because we want to keep the values. NOTE 2. Make sure that scripts, VAF's etc. logic do not use the old value, and they can use the Text-based Property.
