Overview
When you create an assignment for a user, the user receives an email notification about it, and the assignment also appears in the user's Assigned to Me view in the M-Files client.
However, sometimes, another user may also receive a notification about the same assignment, and the assignments also show in the other user's Assigned to Me view.
This article describes to what M-Files feature the behavior is likely related.
Solution
The likely reason for this is the use of the Substitute User feature.
With this feature, the user can appoint a substitute user or users (for example, for the period of absence when the user is not at work) who can carry on the assignments assigned to the user. The following user guide article describes how it works in more detail: Substitute Users.
To check if the user has appointed any substitute users, the user can click the username icon in the upper right corner of the M-Files Desktop client and select User Settings and Substitute Users.
