"File format is not supported" when delivering pre-shared-key to iOS device with Outlook for iOS app

M-Files for iOS

Overview

Microsoft Outlook for iOS application on iOS mobile devices does not support M-Files link files (with .mflink file extension). This is the situation on the version 4.2109.0 (and earlier) of the application.
When such file is attached in mail and user tries to open it via iOS Outlook mail application, it informs "File format is not supported" as shown in the screenshot below:

This situation could be faced for example when opening pre-shared key, which is delivered via mflink to mobile device. Please see Section 6.1 for further references in document Securing Access To M-Files Vaults With A Pre-Shared Key.

Solution / workaround

The solution is to use another mail client (for example iOS native mail application) in iOS device to deliver pre-shared key to mobile device.
