M-Files Desktop

Overview

You can easily check the version of the M-Files Server instance to which the vault is attached from M-Files Desktop clients' user interfaces. This article instructs you on how to see the information via the classic M-Files Desktop client and from the new M-Files Desktop / M-Files Web.

Solution

Using the classic M-Files Desktop (version 20.4 or newer):

  • Click the Connection Status icon in the top area of the M-Files Desktop client next to the M-Files logo.

Note: In M-Files Desktop version 22.10 or older, the button is located in the upper right corner of the client.

  • Click the Analyze Connection button.

  • M-Files Server's version is shown at the bottom of the Connection Analysis window.

Using the new M-Files Desktop or M-Files Web (version 25.2 or newer)

  • Click your initials in the top-right corner of the client.

  • Select About M-Files.

  • This will open the About M-Files dialog, which shows both the M-Files Server version and the M-Files Desktop client's version, as shown in the screenshot below.
