Solution
You can configure the default template in the registry:
Registry Key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Motive\M-Files\<mfiles_version>\Client\Common\<vault_name>\DefaultTemplates
Value name: Class<id_class>
Value type: REG_DWORD (DWORD 32-bit Value)There is an improvement request, ID 166229, to move these settings to advanced vault settings. Note: you cannot use a blank multifile as a default template.
