How to send files via Cryptshare portal

Overview

M-Files uses Cryptshare Web Portal to transfer files between technical support and customers. Cryptshare is a Web application that allows easy and secure exchange of sensitive information.

Important to notice (Please read carefully)

  • In Step 4, make sure you use the correct email address in the “To” field.
  • Copy the password and keep it ready to send separately to M-Files Support as instructed below. The password cannot be retrieved later, so ensure you save it before proceeding.

Steps

Step 1

Open your web browser and go to https://fileshare.m-files.com. Click Provide to start the sending process.

Step 2

Fill in your Name, Phone, and Email address and click Next.

Step 3

You will receive a verification code from fileshare@m-files.com to the e-mail address you provided.

When using Cryptshare for the first time, the authenticity of the email address is verified for privacy reasons.

The verification is necessary after 30 days or when the e-mail address changes. Please then enter or copy-paste the verification code to Cryptshare: 

Step 4

IMPORTANT! After the verification, fill in ONLY either of the below email addresses to the To -field:

  • Customers who have a separate agreement with M-Files to handle data only in the EU, must use: eu-only-secure.link@m-files.com
  • Other Customers, use only: secure.link@m-files.com

Click Next.

Step 5

To add the files, drag and drop them to the box area or by clicking Browse.

The maximum file transfer size is 21 GB per transfer batch. If your transfer exceeds this limit, please contact M-Files Support for alternative file transfer options.

(If needed, you can specify an additional custom message to your transfer by clicking Add.)

When you have added all the files, click Next.

Step 6

You can now choose the transfer options and generate or create a password for the file transfer.

IMPORTANT! Remember to copy the password, as it cannot be recovered later. You'll need to send this password to the support person for them to be able to retrieve the file/s. 

After setting up and copying the password, click Next.

Step 7

Next, you can edit the notification Message that will be sent to M-Files.

Please also add the Case/Ticket ID to the Subject field, if possible.

You can also preview the message by clicking the eye icon next to the Start Transfer button.

Click Start Transfer to send the message and/or file(s). 

Step 8

You will get a summary at the end and an email notification if you chose that option in a previous state.

 

Step 9

IMPORTANT! Please now provide the transfer password to your M-Files Support Person via your open support case via the Support Portal, as an email reply to the case email or SMS if needed.
