Objects in value lists: Enabling translatable object titles functionality

Overview

Users may observe that translatable object titles are not shown according to the selected vault language for objects in the value list. However, objects show the language according to the selected vault language in the title area of the metadata card.

This may happen if an object with translatable title is created in the vault before the vault language is set in M-Files Admin. Those objects may be shown in the original language in the value lists and not changed according to selected vault language, as expected.

Workaround

A workaround to get the objects in the value list shown according to the selected vault language is as follows:

1. Export selected objects out of the vault via content replication and archiving.
2. Import the objects back to the vault.

After this, the object titles in the value lists should be shown according to selected vault language in the value lists for these objects.

Solution

M-Files has logged an enhancement idea for this scenario. You can monitor the release notes for improvements in this area. In the meantime, use the workaround above.
