"This command is not available" error when trying to insert M-Files property in Office document

Overview

Users may get the "This command is not available" error when inserting the M-Files property in the Office document.

Example error stack:

Connect.cpp, 404, This command is not available. (0x800A11FD)

AbstractOfficeApplication.cpp, 1393, This command is not available. (0x800A11FD)

InsertPropertyAction.cpp, 98, This command is not available. (0x800A11FD)

WordInsertPropertyAction.cpp, 99, This command is not available. (0x800A11FD)

Usually, this error appears if the Office document has restricted editing enabled.

Office application prevents M-Files properties from being added to the document.

Please check this in the Office application (File - Info - Protect Document - Restrict Editing) and disable restrictions to add M-Files properties.
