Overview
You may have a situation where you have purchased a certain number of named or read-only M-Files user licenses but seemingly cannot allocate all of them to your users in M-Files Manage. This can happen because also disabled user accounts may consume a license. This article explains what to do in this situation.
Solution
When you view your users and allocated licenses in M-Files Manage, you will see them on a screen like the one below, which shows the enabled user accounts by default.
If your enabled users don't consume all licenses you have, but you, e.g., cannot assign a license to a new user, check your disabled user accounts, and remove licenses from them.
Select "Disabled users" from the drop-down menu instead of "Enabled users." Then you can edit the license type of these users via the three-dot menu, as depicted in the screenshot below. Select "No license" and save; the license will be removed from the disabled user account.
