Overview
When saving a .pdf file directly from Chrome to M-Files, the file download in Chrome can fail and the file will not be imported into M-Files. However, when tried with Internet Explorer, it will save to M-Files with no problems.
Workaround
Here the small workaround, where you disable Chrome opening PDFs. When a PDF is viewed on a websiten then Acrobat Reader is automatically launched which views the PDF and users can then save the .pdf to M-Files drive with no problems.
Please find the below instructions:
- To set this up copy this into the Chrome address bar and hit enter: chrome://settings/content
Scroll down to “PDF Documents” Hit the arrow on the right:
- Then set the slide to turn on “Download PDF files instead of automatically opening them in Chrome”:
You can then close the Chrome tab and test it. Any PDF in Chrome should launch a separate Adobe Acrobat window now.
