Changing Recently Accessed by Me View

Overview

User was no longer seeing objects they had recently worked with in the Recently Accessed by Me window. There are few options how to overcome this, one is to update the common view, and one is to create new view.

Reason

The Recently Accessed by Me view is built-in view that is also a common view. Making modifications to this will impact all users in the system.

To see the settings and how this works, expand the Other views listing (1), and open properties of Recently Accessed by Me view (2). Note that this is same as the small tile window Recently Accessed by Me (3).
Note that the Recently Accessed by Me view is common for all users (4) and changes will apply to all users. Making this not common is to be avoided.
The filter is by default Accessed by me less than 30 days.

Solution

Two ways to approach. Either create a new view or alter the view for everyone.

Create New View

Updating common view applies to everyone, creating new view "less recently accessed" for this purpose is more recommended approach.
To do this: go to home screen, by clicking M-Files logo in the top left corner. And then click create button and select View… from the menu.

Type in descriptive name, and if the intention is to make this common for all users add the checkbox. Defining filter makes the view do what user is asking:

To ease the access to this view it can be pinned, or create a shortcut to task area.

Update the Common View

If the desire is to have every user to have longer time span in the Recently Accessed by Me view, this view can be changed:
1. Open the properties of Recently Accessed by Me view.
3. Click on the 'Define Filter' button.
4. Click on the 'Properties' tab.
** In the table, by default Property is set to "Days From (Accessed by me), Operator is set to the "less than" symbol, <, and the Value is set to a number of days **
5. Change the value (30 by default) to the number of days desired. (i.e. 365 in the value equals 1 year, as 7 in the value equals 1 week)
