Overview
If you bump into issue that is related to the Reporting and Data Export (see the screenshot below), one possibility is to enable logging to show details regarding that process.
These log files should show selected StorageProvider creating and dropping tables, showing the number of received objects etc., which might help troubleshooting the issue.
Solution
Edit registry keys to these following values and reproduce the issue after that:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Motive\M-Files\<version>\Server\MFDataExport\Logging]
"EnableVerboseLogging"=dword:00000110
"FlushIntervalInSeconds"=dword:0000000a
"LogCategories"=dword:ffffffff
"LogDir"="%TEMP%\MFilesLogs"
"Enabled"=dword:00000001
There is no need to restart any services when altering these registry settings. By default, the location of these log files is %TEMP%\MFilesLogs (in a standard environment: C:\Windows\Temp\MFilesLogs). Remember to change the value for Enabled back to 0 after the issue has been reproduced. When you have sent the log files to M-Files, consider deleting the log files to free up disk space.
Usually, the best practice to transfer log files to M-Files Support is using Cryptshare:
