How to Allow M-Files and Federated Authentication Methods in M-Files Web

Last updated on 28 December 2022

Microsoft Entra ID Authentication

Overview

In M-Files Web and Mobile, it is possible to update your Federated Authentication settings to allow users to access a vault with both Federated authentication (Azure AD, Okta, etc.) and normal M-Files Authentication.

Solution

To update your existing Federated Authentication settings:
1. In M-Files Admin, navigate to Configurations->Federated Authentication->Configuration and expand your existing scope:

2. Under your existing Scope, delete the "Default configuration" and leave the value empty:

3. Save the configuration. When navigating to your vault URL now, the default M-Files login should appear but there will also be an option below to login via your federated authentication method.
