Overview
This article describes how to reset account passwords for M-Files vault and Manage users, using the Manage dialogs. All vault users are defined in the Manage system, and even though their account may not be authorized to use Manage itself, vault users can still use the Manage login dialogs to generate password reset requests for their vault access accounts.
Solution
M-Files Manage and Vault users can request a password reset:
- Navigate to Manage portal login page: https://manage.m-files.com
- Enter the Username
- Click Next and Click Forgot password?
- Click Send Reset Link
The reset link will be emailed to the address associated with a Username, or, to an email address if there is an account associated with it.
Notes
- Some organizations have a Manage "login tag" or subscription alias in use, in which case the Username entry should be in the form of logintag/Username. Please contact your Manage Subscription Administrator if you need to know the login tag.
- If an email address is used to get the password reset link, please make sure that the email address is not used in multiple login accounts.
- Reset links are usually sent very quickly, so if you don't see it in your inbox be sure to check your spam filters
