Overview

Sometimes, the product logs for your On-Premise Hubshare environment may not be enough to troubleshoot properly an issue.

It could happen that during the investigation of a case you opened on the M-Files Support side, some custom libraries (.dll files) are given to trigger more logs.

We will explain to you the proper way to implement those custom libraries and help us troubleshoot your issue.

Solution

You will get the custom libraries in a shared link from the M-Files Support.

  1. Download the file(s) to your machine.
  2. Open the IIS Manager and go to the Application Pools.
  3. You will need to stop the HubshareWebApp and Background job app (also called HubshareWorker)image.png
  4. Go to your Hubshare folder (depends on which disk you have installed it) and go to the App, and WebApp subfolder. (e.g., C:\Hubshare\App\WebApp)
  5. Make a copy of the file(s) that already are on your machine
  6. Replace the .dll file(s) with the one(s) provided by M-Files Support team.
  7. Restart the Background job app (HubshareWorker)
  8. Restart the HubshareWebApp
  9. Reproduce the action that causes the issue you're facing.
  10. When done with the situation that needs to be logged, save the logs.
  11. Repeat steps 2-8, but place the original files there so that the additional logs do not flood the machine.
  12. Send us the product logs of the situation (Here's an article showing you how: How to get On-Premise logs)
