Overview
The M-Files Plugin for Hubshare allows you to manage your Hubs, Hubshare users, and groups from your M-Files Vault. If there is a change made on the M-Files Hubshare side, you will need to update your Hubshare-related objects as this is not done automatically.
The article will show you how to proceed if you only want to update a single object.
Solution
You may already know that in M-Files Admin you can run a global update that will gather all the changes made on M-Files Hubshare side and push it to your Hubshare-related objects in your vault.
In the Configurations, inside the M-Files Plugin for Hubshare dashboard, you will be able to run these asynchronous operations, "Get Updates from M-Files Hubshare" being the task mentioned that will have an effect globally.
In some situations, if you do not have access to M-Files Admin, or if you do not want to do a global update, you can get the M-Files Plugin for Hubshare to update a single object.
Here is how to proceed:
- Go to the Hubshare-related object you want to have its metadata updated (could be Hub, Hubshare User, Hub Template or Hubshare User Group)
In my example below I am using a Hubshare User - Make your changes in M-Files Hubshare if needed (a few actions can only be done in Hubshare)
If the changes were already made by you or someone else, skip this step.
After enabling his account, my external user changed his name on his profile section in M-Files Hubshare since it was not correct.
He also added his phone number there. - The M-Files Plugin for Hubshare will update the content of the object as soon as there is a check-in operation that happens.
So you will only need to check out the object, and check it back in. This can be done easily by adding a property temporarily (like keywords) and removing it afterwards.
My object is now up to date:
An updated version has been created, the name has changed, the phone number was added, and the status of my external is set to "enabled" since he has finished the account creation after receiving the e-mail.
