Overview
Users' licenses in M-Files Cloud are managed in M-Files Manage. If there are not enough licenses for all the users who have a license allocated, a part of the users will be shown as waiting for a license in M-Files Manage.
When you purchase more licenses, the system will automatically assign a license to as many users waiting for it as possible. Note, however, that this will happen only when the number of purchased licenses changes. If the licenses become available, e.g., when you remove them from other users, the system will not reassign them automatically.
Solution
An admin user needs to manually assign licenses to users in M-Files Manage when there are free licenses and users waiting for them, but the number of purchased licenses has stayed the same.
An improvement idea has been reported to M-Files product development to make the license assignment automatic whenever there are free licenses and users are waiting for them. If implemented, it may be part of a larger enhancement or implemented even through a completely new functionality. The implemented improvements are listed in the release notes.
