Renewing Client Secret Key (Azure AD Synchronization Plugin)

Last updated on 21 February 2021

Overview

This article is valid for M-Files hosted cloud vault customers. In M-Files 2015 and later, it is possible to import users and user groups from Azure Active Directory by using a plugin named MFiles.Synchronization.AzureAD. Here are the instructions:

Configuring Azure Active Directory Synchronization Plugin.pdf (Web)

In order the importing to work Client Secret key must be provided to M-Files Support for support to install it to customer server. It is good from security point of view to create such Client Secret key that expires in certain time e.g. in a year. Please remember to send the new Client Secret key to M-Files support when the old one is expiring in order the Azure AD sync not to stop working.

Sending Client Secret key to M-Files

When the client secret key is getting expired, please send a new key value to us.

Note: When you need to upload any files to M-Files Support, please use our secure CryptShare Portal for the purpose. Check this guide: How to Send Files via CryptShare Portal
