Overview
This document describes how to create advanced notification rules. Advanced notification is part of the M-Files compliance kit. Creation of advanced notification rules contains three steps: create enabling the rule in M-Files admin, creating a rule in M-Files Desktop, and modifying the rule.
Solution
Step 1: Enable rules in M-Files Admin
- Open M-Files Admin
- Browse into Server -> Document Vaults -> <your vault> -> Configurations -> Other Applications -> Compliance Kit -> Advanced Notifications -> Configuration
- Set "Enabled" to Yes
- Give the name for the Taskpane Command Button Caption, for example, "Notification Editor"
- Set needed options, which you want to use
Step2: Create a rule in M-Files Desktop
- Open M-Files Desktop
- Click Create button and select "Notification Rule"
- Fill in the "Name or Title" field, in this example, we use "Send an external notification"
- Set "Enabled" to No
- Set "Require State Change" to Yes or No, depending on your needs
- Fill some temporary text into fields "Subject ( Template )" and Body ( Template ). In the next step, we will update these to correct ones
- Click "Create" button
Step 3: Modifying the rule
- Click the newly created rule and select from the left pane, this is the same name you defined in step 1 d.
- Now the Advanced Notification rule editor will open and you can fill needed fields
- Here is an example of how the rule could look:
