How to edit PDF files in M-Files for Android through a 3rd party app

  1. Open the M-Files app.
  2. Log in to a vault.
  3. Keep the app running in the background.
  4. Open a third-party app, e.g., Xodo
    Note: editing PDF through Adobe Acrobat Reader is not currently supported by the Adobe app provider.
  5. Go to System Files à choose M-Files.
    Note: The following instructions can vary depending on the third-party application.

  6. Select the vault, e.g., Documents.
    Note: the user must first log in to the vault and have the M-Files app running in the background, see steps 2 and 3.

  7. Select the vault list, e.g. Recently Accessed by Me.

  8. Navigate to the folder with a PDF document and select the document to edit.

  9. Edit the document and press the arrow back on the toolbar's top left corner.

  10. "Document saved." toast will be shown.

  11. Navigate back to the M-Files app.
  12. The object with the edited PDF document will show as "checked out".
  13. Check in the file to save the changes.
