M-Files Connector for Network Folder

Overview

When a Network Folder Connector is installed, the actual network folder connections are configured in the M-Files Admin's Configurations section under External Repositories. However, sometimes the "Network Folder" is not visible under External Repositories (see the screenshot below from a functioning setup).

Solution

Here is a checklist to enable configuring Network Folder connections in M-Files Admin:

  1. The Network Folder Connector vault application is installed and enabled (right-click the Vault and select Applications).
  2. The server license contains the module "Intelligent Metadata Layer" (right-click the server connection and select License Management).
  3. Check the installed .NET versions (the newest in 4.8.x series should be installed). See this related article: /article//How-to-Find-Out-Which-NET-Framework-Version-is-InstalledRebooting the M-Files Server computer after possible .NET installation might be required.
