PDF file preview may fail in M-Files Web if the file extension is in uppercase (ISSUE: CE-1348)

Overview

We have observed an issue with the PDF file preview in M-Files Web. The preview may fail in M-Files Web if a file has been saved to M-Files with an uppercase file extension (.PDF instead of .pdf) and the size of the file is larger than the AVS setting PDF Conversion (Indexing, File Preview, Workflows) > PDF Files > Maximum Source File Size (by default 10 MB).

Solution

This issue (CE-1348) has been fixed in M-Files August '25 (25.8) release. We recommend you to update to the latest version. If you are unable to update your M-Files Server, as a workaround, you can rename the files to a lowercase file extension or use M-Files Desktop instead of Web.
