Overview
You might get missing images in an Office file (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and the error “The picture can’t be displayed” and "The image part with relationship ID rldx was not in the file" is displayed instead.
Solution
The error is actually not an M-Files error, but an issue caused by Microsoft Office software itself. The file could have been corrupted at some stage: Microsoft suggests that it might have been edited in an older version of Word and causes compatibility issues with newer versions, or something happened to Word application during saving stage. Sometimes, it is also caused by .doc file renamed manually to .docx format or using an external storage device.Newer versions of Microsoft Office have updates that should prevent this issue from happening.
This is the suggested fix from Microsoft:

If the image files cannot be recovered with these Microsoft instructions, the images need to be applied manually from a M-Files history version of the document or from a backup.
