Overview
By default, M-Files returns 500 virtual folders inside views and search results. This has been configured this way for optimal performance.
Workaround
To change the maximum number of returned folders in a listing choose from following options based on your M-Files version. Please note the workaround might affect the performance of M-Files search and views due to extra load on the server.
For M-Files version earlier then 19.3.7499.3:
Key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Motive\M-Files\[version]\Server\MFServer
Value name: MaxResultsCountForFolderListing
Value Type: REG_DWORD
Value Data: e.g. 600 [This value limits the maximum number of returned folders in a listing]
For M-Files version 19.3.7499.3 or above:
This registry key MaxResultsCountForFolderListing no longer works in later M-Files versions, since at least version 19.3.7499.3. It has been migrated to the Advanced Vault Settings inside the MFAdmin tool.
· Open M-Files Admin.
· Go to <Vault>/Configurations/Advanced Vault Settings/Configuration/Search/Limits/Maximum Number of Virtual Folders. (Note: You must have vault administrator right to have this section visible in MF Admin)
· Change number e.g. 600, the default is 500.
