Overview

When you get a "Server can't be reached. Please check server URL" error while trying to link your vault to Hubshare but you can access M-Files Web, you might face a situation where the REST API is not well enabled.

Solution

If you can access M-Files Web (vNext) and Hubshare cannot work properly, it means that the rest API is not enabled correctly, and this is mandatory for M-Files Hubshare and M-Files integration.

You can see it in the guide here: https://userguide.m-files.com/user-guide/hubshare-admin/latest/eng/hsadmin_setting_up_m-files_extension_company_level.html

Please check the rest status of your vault by adding "/rest/server/status" at the end of your URL.

This means you are in the scenario mentioned above.

Please check the articles below, as they can help you fix the situation:

This article also helps if you want gRPC in an architecture that enables both REST and gRPC: https://kb.cloudvault.m-files.com/link/3ECA226F-7B54-428B-B539-DE443E6134EC/show?object=F0F5A214-B657-4DBD-8F9B-BA3745C6220E&objid=0-20743&version=latest

To double check if the REST API is available, you can run the test again of the URL shown above, and you should get this when it is working fine:
